![]() ![]() ![]() Note: Adobe Flash pages will not function on iOS devices like iPad or iPhone. A zoomifyViewer.swf is located in the WebFolder directory. The EmbARK Web Kiosk application is delivered with all of the files necessary for displaying Zoomify images in place. Zoomify also prevents the web user from being able to download the image to their own computer (although they can likely still use screen shot utilities to capture parts of it). Furthermore, no matter what the pixel dimensions of the original source image, Zoomify will make sure that the zoomable image always displays in a space of fixed size (the size of which can be controlled by the HTML code). The reason this works is that the Zoomify conversion utility converts the original image from a single file into a folder with hundreds (if not thousands) of small tiles (sort of like looking down on a pyramid). Zoomify provides the capability for displaying extremely high-resolution images via a Web interface (it is even possible to publish files that have a size of several gigabytes!). One of the best solutions for providing zooming is to make use of a third-party utility called Zoomify (). While the EmbARK application itself has built-in functionality for zooming into the JPEG files, that same functionality is not available by default with standard HTML web pages. By default, EmbARK Web Kiosk is designed to publish only your original digital image files (typically JPEG images). One of the most impressive features for the end user on your site is the option to zoom into high-resolution images. You can include fields in the Advanced Search but limit the Number of fields that actually display - leaving the remaining fields to build dynamic portfolios. It is based on having the Object:Region-Continent field as the 5th advanced search field. ![]() Another good example is shown with the Browse_Geography.htm template in the Kiosk Pages directory. For example, the search value can be expanded by using the wild card in the query (instead of a complete data string). This URL may be modified to create even more flexible queries. One easy trick for quickly building a query URL is to temporarily change the form method in a search template from POST to GET.īy using the GET, a URL will be generated that can be saved as an A HREF link. Rather than maintaining a standard portfolio that may require considerable maintenance, the dynamic portfolio concept uses catalogued data fields as the basis for the grouping. Nearly any search criteria that can be assembled in Kiosk can be used to create a dynamic clickable link. EmbARK Web Kiosk Manual Appendix Dynamic Portfolios | ![]()
